Preparing Every Student for the Future

Our careers guidance is designed around the individual. We take the time to understand each student’s interests, strengths and aspirations, helping them explore meaningful pathways towards further education, employment and greater independence.

Through personalised guidance and real-world experiences, we help students build confidence, make informed choices and discover opportunities that reflect their ambitions. By giving students the space to explore what inspires them, we support them to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need for their next steps.

The Futures Team

Our Futures Team is made up of eight highly-trained Regional Futures Advisors. Each has a level 6 or 7 qualification in Careers Guidance or is a supported apprentice, complemented by specialist expertise in working with students who have additional or complex needs.

The team is busy constructing a bespoke Special Educational Needs (SEND) Careers curriculum, which will revolutionise guidance by offering students the opportunity to achieve a qualification whilst preparing for their future.

Supporting Every Young Person

Personal guidance

Our Regional Futures Advisors provide personalised careers guidance for students with additional or complex needs. Students are offered regular 1:1 support to ensure their voice is heard and to help them make informed decisions about their future.

Our approach looks beyond careers alone, taking into account each student’s interests, hobbies, independent skills and aspirations to identify opportunities that can genuinely inspire and motivate them.

Meaningful experiences

Our Futures Team helps students access meaningful work experience and vocational opportunities linked to their individual interests and goals.

Experiences can be tailored to meet specific needs, with 1:1 support available where required. Previous opportunities have included aeronautics, robotics, specialist sports courses, sound production and other highly personalised placements designed to help students explore their vocational interests.

Support for schools

Our Futures Team supports schools through careers training, consultation, assessment and the development of careers strategy and provision.

Regional Futures Advisors provide an accessible point of contact for school colleagues and carry out annual careers provision audits to support continuous improvement and alignment with Careers Development Institute requirements and the Gatsby Benchmarks.
